White track around Alfrédka
The former tourist lodge Alfrédka, today partly supplemented by the nice buffet Herdegen, is the the cult destination of the cross country skiers in the Jeseníky mountains. A considerable altitude and regularly maintained tracks in the surrounding area offer excellent skiing conditions even in a situation where the lower-lying resorts needles stick to the ski wax.
Alfrédka forms a fixed point halfway between Karlov respectively. Nová Ves, major ski resorts, and Skřítek saddle with parking and good bus links. Between the given points you can stretch not very challenging hike or shape few laps led through magical forest roads. Most tracks are maintained by machine regularly. During nice weather, it offers the advanced skiers a branch from Alfrédka to Skřítek on not maintained traverse track along the way, but through the Jelení studánka, Pecný and Ztracené kameny along the main crest of Jeseniky mountains. The route promises beautiful scenery, but also relatively demanding climbing and descents. A popular route is also convenient long descent from Alfrédka to Mravencovka through the Kotelný brook valley.
